We have over 900 team members working across the county in various professional fields.About the jobThe ICRC Protection Unit is recruiting a Protection Field Officer 1 based in Kyiv office. In close cooperation with the team members and line managers, the Protection Field Officer 1 will mainly be responsible for contributing to the implementation and monitoring of ICRC protection activities, in relation to the safe cross-border passage program (SCBP). The program supports the repatriation/family reunification of persons affected by the conflict.Start date: ASAPYour Tasks and ResponsibilitiesAs the Protection Field Officer you will be responsible for:
  • Contributing to analyses of the security, socioeconomic, cultural, and political environment relevant to the ICRC, sharing relevant information with team members, and reporting any change in the situation
  • Collecting, compiling, and sharing protection-related information, and preparing written reports
  • Contributing to the identification of relevant stakeholders and developing and maintaining contact with municipal/regional authorities, local/regional National Society branches, local/international NGOs, and service providers
  • Contributing to the day-to-day management and implementation of safe cross-border activities and supporting the assessment and processing of potential cases as per established criteria
  • Providing support in conducting meetings with the relevant interlocutors to disseminate SCBP activities and follow up on specific caseloads when needed
  • Engaging directly with persons affected by the conflict to better understand their circumstances, in line with ICRC's humanitarian principles

  • Ukrainian citizenship or holding a permanent resident permit in Ukraine
  • University degree or relevant professional experience
  • 3-5 years' previous professional experiences, for instance in the field of social/political/economic science or similar
  • Professional fluency in English, Ukrainian and Russian (written and spoken)
  • Computer proficiency
  • Self-motivated with a strong commitment to teamwork and humanitarian principles
  • Flexible, enthusiastic, and willing to learn
  • Ability to work independently, as well as effectively under supervision
  • Confidence in managing projects and staff
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to work within a diverse team and establish and maintain good working relations in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, and multi-disciplinary environment
